Fátima is world famous for the apparitions of the Virgin Mary. The immense square between the original basilica and the modern cathedral is impressive in itself. In the afternoon, you will visit the palace / monastery of Mafra, one of the largest royal palaces where you can spend hours. Day trip to the Roman ruins and Coimbra: The Roman ruins of Conímbriga are located about 100 km north of São Martinho do Porto. The drive is definitely worth it, as our guide will bring the aristocratic dwellings, the public baths, the forum back to life in this large Roman settlement while you enjoy the many beautiful mosaic floors.
